Meet Denyse, Our 1st Community Donor

Denyse is a 48-year-old woman who previously worked jobs that kept her on her feet for up to 16 hours a day. After discovering she had a blood clot, she ultimately underwent a partial foot amputation. Recovery has been a long road, giving her time to reflect on what this experience might have been like without the financial resources, support system, and determination to navigate insurance companies and hospitals.

“I’m getting stronger every day,” Denyse shares. “The reason I offered my items for free is because I know I’m fortunate. I have the funds, and I have a village that many people don’t have. This experience has been a nightmare, even with good insurance and a good village. I can’t imagine what it would have been like without them.”

That awareness inspired Denyse to help others by passing along equipment she no longer needs. She also plans to donate her rollator and wheelchair when she no longer needs them and hopes to become an advocate for people with disabilities.

“This world is certainly still not built for those of us who can’t get around like everyone else,” she says.

As 1st Alliance Care Solutions’ first donor, Denyse is helping begin a community tradition of generosity, turning her own experience into an opportunity to support someone else’s independence.
