K2 Rollator Walker
Step-by-Step Rollator Walker Instructions
1. Check the rollator before each use
Before walking, confirm that:
The rollator is fully open and locked into position.
All four wheels are secure and move freely.
The seat and backrest are secure.
Both hand brakes operate properly.
The handles and adjustment knobs are tight.
Nothing appears loose, cracked, bent, or damaged.
Do not use the rollator if it feels unstable or any part is damaged.
2. Confirm the handle height
Stand upright between the rear wheels with your arms relaxed at your sides. The handles should be approximately level with the crease of your wrists. When holding the handles, your elbows should remain slightly bent.
Contact 1st Alliance if the height needs adjustment and you are unsure how to change it safely.
3. Practice the brakes
Place both hands on the handles.
Squeeze both brake levers upward to slow down or stop.
Press both brake levers downward to engage the parking brakes.
Pull both levers upward again to release the parking brakes.
Always operate both brakes together. Test them before walking.
4. Begin walking
Stand close to the rollator with your body centered between the handles. Release the parking brakes, gently move the rollator forward, and step into the frame.
Walk at a comfortable pace while keeping the rollator close to your body. Avoid leaning too far forward or pushing it too far ahead.
5. Turn carefully
Slow down before turning. Keep both hands on the handles and take several small steps while guiding the rollator through the turn.
Do not twist your body sharply or make sudden turns.
6. Approach thresholds and uneven surfaces cautiously
Slow down when approaching rugs, doorway thresholds, cracks, slopes, or changes in flooring. Keep the wheels facing forward and make sure all wheels clear the obstacle.
Do not use the rollator on stairs, escalators, steep slopes, wet floors, or unsafe terrain. Ask for assistance when necessary.
7. Sit down safely
Use the seat only on a firm, level surface.
Turn carefully until the back of your legs touches the seat.
Press both brake levers downward to lock the parking brakes.
Confirm that the rollator cannot move.
Reach back for the seat or handles as instructed.
Lower yourself slowly onto the seat.
Never sit down without locking both brakes.
8. Stand up safely
Before standing, confirm that both parking brakes remain locked. Move toward the front edge of the seat, place both feet firmly on the floor, and push up using the method demonstrated during your personalized instruction.
Do not pull forcefully on the rollator or use it to lift your full body weight.
9. Use the rollator only as intended
Do not allow anyone to push you while you are seated.
Do not use the rollator as a wheelchair or transport chair.
Do not exceed the manufacturer’s weight limit.
Do not hang heavy bags from the handles.
Keep hands, clothing, and personal items away from moving parts.
Wear secure, supportive footwear when walking.
10. Stop if something feels unsafe
Stop using the rollator if the brakes do not hold, a wheel becomes loose, the frame feels unstable, or you notice unusual movement or damage.
If you feel dizzy, weak, unsteady, short of breath, or unsafe while walking, sit safely if possible and request assistance.
